A new home in Rocklin, California in desperate need of, well, anything and everything. The client wanted a pool, outdoor kitchen and dining, plenty of seating space, large grass area for lawn games, a firepit for casual seating. Casual elegance was the name of the game here.
Ta-da! An outdoor kitchen and dining area, arbors for vertical interest, seat walls, firepit area. Strategically placed palms help with privacy from two-story neighbors. Plant selections were non-fussy and are far enough away from the pool to not be a bother.
The key to designing a small landscape with so many features is to keep plant material selections to a minimum, just use a lot of the same varieties. The geometric styling of this design helps keep visual order in the small space.
